About us
Hi, I’m Bernd — the creator of EasyCBD — and this project started right at our kitchen table.
I’m an electrical engineer with a PhD in power systems, and I’ve been lecturing in AI and engineering subjects since 2016. But for the past few years, I’ve mostly been a stay-at-home dad — supporting my wife as she trains to become a rural generalist and raising our family of four in the thick of it all.
EasyCBD began as a small tool I built to help her prepare for her case-based discussions (CBDs) as part of the ACRRM training pathway. She needed a way to de-identify her case files quickly and safely — without sending sensitive patient data to external servers. So I built a simple program that ran locally on her computer and used AI to help with the heavy lifting.
It worked better than either of us expected.
Since then, I’ve developed EasyCBD into a full-featured platform to help other medical trainees like her. It now helps you manage your case library, de-identify patient information, generate cover pages, and package everything into clean, professional documents ready for submission — all in one place.
This project is a labour of love (and many late nights) — built to support those who support our communities, especially in rural and remote Australia.
If you’re on the ACRRM pathway, I hope EasyCBD makes your journey just that little bit easier.
You can download and try it for free — no sign-up or license key needed. The free version gives you access to all the features, with just two limits: you can manage up to three cases, and exporting is disabled. If you find it useful, you can always get a license key when you're ready to knock out your CBD cases.
